I’ve always had a soft spot for French toast, especially during the warmer months of the year. It’s a treat that can satiate even the pickiest of palates.
French toast is one of my favorite things to order when eating out at restaurants on weekends and it is perfect with a cold glass of milk. I was looking for a way to enjoy this classic American dish at home, and then I came across this recipe.

French toast is probably one of the most popular breakfast dishes in the world. It’s also super easy to make and requires very little effort. This makes it a perfect breakfast choice for busy weekend warriors who are looking for a quick meal to start their weekend routine.

Ingredients
- 1 Loaf Sourdough Bread
- 8 Eggs
- 2 c. Milk
- ½ c. Heavy Cream
- ¾ c. Sugar
- 2 tbsp Vanilla
Topping
- ½ c. Flour
- ½ c. Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ c. Butter, cold, cut into pieces
Directions
- Cut bread into cubes, spread evenly in greased 9”x13” pan.
- In large mixing bowl, mix eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla. Pour evenly over bread.
- Cover pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- In medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly, place in Ziploc bag, and refrigerate overnight.
- When ready to bake, remove pan and mixture from refrigerator, sprinkle topping mixture evenly over the bread.
- Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour depending how soft you would like it.
